It’s been a beautiful spring

The garden is exploding with colour and new growth! Featured here are two pond settings, one in the front yard and one in back, a pink dogwood in bloom, acers (one that starts out red and turns green later!), large evergreens, a flowering cherry, and the beginning of the rhodo show.

Vancouver Island Garden Recipes written by foundation co-founder Jackie Barker. This 134 page colourful and funky cookbook contains easy recipes based on locally grown produce and would make a great gift for the gardener on your list. Please note that the book is 7 inches (17 cm) square, a small book, but small is good when you are cooking and don’t wish to have a large open cookbook taking up counter space. All profits from the sale of the book will be donated to the foundation.

The book is now available with three options for purchase. It is immediately downloadable in PDF format for use on computers, tablets, smart phones and ereaders such as the Kindle 2 for $7.99 Canadian plus tax. It is also downloadable as an ebook for use on the Apple iPad for $3.99 Canadian plus tax. It may also be purchased in paperback form directly through, and will arrive in about ten days. The cost is $38.74 Canadian plus shipping ($9 to $13) and tax with a minimum final cost of $48.01. To download the book or purchase online as a paperback, please visit: Type in Vancouver Island Garden Recipes in the search area at the top right of the page and you will be directed to the book, with prices listed in Canadian dollars.

If you decide to purchase the book, we hope that you find it fun as well as practical. Thank you for your support!
